OH NO! Where's Friday Glee!

I have no cool video link, because I haven't had time to look at anything. Crazy week for me with work and now tutoring two students. (The new one is an English as a Second Language student from Kuwait.) I'm heading to Sarasota tomorrow to do the final review of a friend's novel, so there is no climbing for me this week.

But last week I ended up climbing on the auto-belay with multitudes of Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. I discovered that three kids equaled the 90 second break I need between climbs!

So, please, fill me with climbing glee by telling me what you're doing this week!

Friday glee was delayed because I went out to a gallery with my Dad this morning, and didn't get it posted before I had to dash out of the door ...

To make up for it, here's a short film about rising bouldering star Flannery Shay-Nemirov, as she takes a year-long bouldering roadtrip before university.

The other day I noticed what I thought could make an interesting little boulder problem, up the wall of a pedestrian underpass. I tried it today and got halfway to the top, so it's as good as I hoped. Would be boring if I got in on the first try, but now I'm positive it's doable, especially once we get dryer weather.

I've come to really loathe graffity, though. That bloody paint makes the wall all smooth, and you get little friction even with climbing shoes.

That's cool about the bouldering problem, but I never thought about how paint would make a wall smooth. Huh.

Will do. :) Just waiting for that darn humidity to dissipate.

Yeah, the color those sprayers use always makes stone a little more slippery. So annoying.

My usual wall is still being refurbished, so we went somewhere I've not climbed for years. It was pretty good - although it's quite a short wall (think squash-court height), that meant we got loads and loads of climbs in, which were fun if something oddly-graded :)
