In other news, the club of female climbers who've climbed V14 has just gained its fourth member (after Tomoko Ogawa, Ashima Shiraishi and Sahuna Coxsey): Alex Puccio has sent Jade.

Aug. 3rd, 2013 11:17 amrydra_wongNext Friday (the 9th) I'm heading off on a climbing trip for a fortnight. I should theoretically have internet access, but it's possible it may be erratic or a thin trickle.
If I can't get the Friday glee posts up, it'd be awesome if other people could -- feel free to jump in.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had a good time; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big.
Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.
N.B. Feel free to post your glee in the comm on any day of the week. The Friday post is just to get the ball rolling.

Going forward, I'm going to try to keep new entries tagged. Members are free to tag their own entries and even to create new tags, but it is NOT required. I'll come along and add tags to any entry that needs them.
What I would like from the community is to know if there are any specific things that are of interest and that I should keep a lookout for in order to tag them. So, if you have a specific concern or subject that you would like to be able to keep track of and you suspect I might not think to tag for it, this is the place to speak up. You can view existing tags here.
Comments are screened just in case.

Like it says in the community profile, this is intended to be a place for climbers to hang out and chat. I won't bore you by repeating the community profile information here, so if you didn't get a chance to read over the community rules, please do so.
Just a few other things related to getting this comm off the ground.
Your friendly neighborhood mod is a boulderer and gym climber pretty much exclusively. I'd like this community to be open to all sorts of climbers and to that end, I'd like to get a top rope climber or lead climber or outdoor climber to co-mod the community with me, so that the mod staff has a diversity of experience. If you're interested, comment here or send me a PM.
Also, I'm thinking of starting up a weekly post of climbing glee where we can all celebrate any accomplishments of the past week. Thoughts? Preferred day of the week to post our glee?
And that should be it. Go forth and post!
