The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: Ned Feehally and co. attempting Andy Earl's route "The Young".

I've climbed once this week, though we took it very easy. My partner managed to drop a concrete block on her hand this week. Yep, the self-destructive climbing partner is at it again! No broken bones, but a lot of bruising, so we climbed easy to give her hand a break.

But it was CLIMBING!

I haven't yet found a toprope partner for Sunday (our usual indoor day) but it doesn't matter too much because the temperature is still a balmy 10 degress so I amuse myself with more improvised urban climbing.

And I finally found a stone staircase you can climb on the underside of. I've been looking for months, the closest one was a 40 minute bike ride away... until the other day I saw one when I went grocery shopping, five minutes from home.

My overhang technique is suffering though, when I don't get to climb regularly at a wall with overhangs. I plan to do regular pull-up training from now on to make up for that.

I hope you find a good toprope partner.

I admire your climbing! I would never attempt to climb the underside of a staircase.

Oh, I never climb up to real heights, only a couple of steps up-and-down. It's only good for training, not so much for route climbing. But stairs are nice because you have that rare overhang situation. And you can do it both with feet, and without, so there's various levels of difficulty for every taste.

Is that the one who had a whole string of weird accidents happen to them? Anyway, I cringe in sympathy.

My partner is a danger to herself. I've never met anyone with such a propensity for injuring herself. Personally, I think it's because she's always tired from her job. Lawyering is work I'd never do.
