It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

Date: 2012-11-02 02:12 pm (UTC)Yeah, most of my climbing partners have nine-to-five jobs so I'm resigned to having no people to outdoor-boulder with during the winter season, since it gets dark around fivish now.
I just got back from an hour of climbing outside on my own... not quite as much fun as climbing with friends, but it was still satisfying. Some of the climbing structures on playgrounds have tricky routes if you look for them. With the perfect degree of difficulty that seems impossible on first try but that you can get with lots of tries.

Date: 2012-11-02 03:42 pm (UTC)Glee of the week: finally figured out (and by figured out, I mean was forced to admit I needed to learn) hand-foot matching, enabling some progress on a V2 project. Solved my first V3 (once; sadly not reproducible yet). That drew a "nice beta" from the setter, which I reckon is always a good feeling.
