rydra_wong: Lisa Rands' chalky hands on the sloper on the route Gaia (climbing -- hands)

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: Justin Critchlow on "Who Needs Ready Brek?" (E4 7a) at the Five Clouds.

Last night I finally figured out the last few meters of a buildering problem I've been working on for ages (a really fun, long traverse). Even better, there's still enough fun left because now I get to try to connect all the sections and climb the entire route in one go.

Also, the night before friends showed me two interesting outdoor climbing spots in prime location. Yay.

I don't think you can call it E4 with pads ;-)

I equalled my best indoors onsight lead grade last night, and it didn't even feel too hard! Given I've been over-cautious leading inside for some time, this is good :)
