Would book/DVD reviews be of any interest?

I realized that I seem to have accumulated quite a stash of reading/viewing material about climbing, and it might be interesting to try some write-ups ...

(I'd certainly love to read other people's reviews.)

It seems like the comm is waking up a bit, so it'd be nice to see if the momentum can be kept going.

(Not that I am volunteering to do anything constructive, you understand. I've decided that recent experiences exempt me from volunteering for anything ever *g*.)

There has been a good amount of activity lately (no doubt thanks in part to your meme). I recently got a job, and have been trying to cut back on on-line time in general, so I doubt I can get back into posting every Friday. I'm thinking I might declare every Friday as a general glee day, and allow people to make individual posts. I don't think we're so active that it would make the comm spammy. I'll try to do an admin post in a few days, and get ideas.

Apparently DW are working on a "recurring posts" thingy , which would let you automate the Friday glee post -- that might be one solution. I think it's nice to have the post there because it sort of gives people permission to brag *g*.

Recurring posts would be the perfect solution.

You make a good point about some people being too shy to start their own bragging post, but if the post is already there... *g*

Okay, I will make a marginal concession to being constructive and ask if I can post about the comm in dw_community_promo. Since I keep telling people to post there, it seems only fair *g*.

Sure thing! I think I posted there when I first created the comm, but a bunch of new people have probably joined. You can pimp anywhere you think appropriate.

(You know, the co-mod offer is always open. I completely understand not wanting to volunteer for anything right now (I've been there myself) but if you ever do, let me know.)

I will think about it -- I realize it would be much fairer than constantly nagging you about things, but I'm reluctant to commit to anything while my health is still so unstable; I don't want to let people down.

I hope I can phrase this without sounding like I'm pushing you to do it, because I'm absolutely not. I completely understand where you're coming from. It took me, what?, four years to get another "real" job after my breakdown because I was so terrified of anything that even felt like commitment. (You'll notice I still haven't said a word about getting the job over at my DW. Making the announcement is a bit more than I can handle right now.)

That said, the main reason I keep bringing it up is not so I can get you to do things for me. If I made you a mod and you never lifted a finger in moddish duties, I wouldn't care in the least. I really don't see this ever becoming a high traffic comm that needs more maintenance than I can handle. I keep bringing it up so that you'll feel comfortable doing things you keep asking me if it's okay to do. I want you to feel like you have ownership of the comm and can pimp it and post to it as much as you want, because you absolutely can.

And now I am going to shut up about this forever unless you bring it up. :)
