Friday glee is getting there

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

Note: my glee is because tomorrow I'm setting off for two weeks in the Peak district.

Fingers crossed, I should have internet access there, but if I don't and I don't get the Friday glee posts up, anyone who wants to should feel free to jump in and do it.

My fingertips are still a bit tender after yesterday's climbing. I think it's probably a good sign that it's them and not my arms :)

I was going climbing outside tomorrow, but the forecast up here's pretty poor, so that may well be rained off...c'est la vie!

Alas not - it rained on our crag today, it's raining tonight, and the forecast is worse for tomorrow. Another time, perhaps.

Yesterday, I climbed until my blisters burst, and my climbing partner said "You're bleeding. Stoppit."

I am pleased that this was the thing that stopped me, and that I managed one new route, and, with a couple of others, got pretty far along.

Ooo, blisters. I hate flappers when they burst. Such a pain in the ass.

I ended up picking the flappy bit off, on the grounds that it would be less annoying, and I would be less likely to get stuff caught underneath it.
