The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: Ricky Bell has a broken toe but decides to be pro-active.

Also, Steve McClure reports on a disastrous trip to the Frankenjura: Day 3. As I should have guessed, not eating cake yesterday made no difference, I was still rubbish.

Haha, that is... very proactive. How inspiring. I should really look around if there's a suitable staircase nearby to do that.

I climbed this week for the first time in six weeks! Needless to say, I took it very easy. My partner and I only did four routes each. We were scheduled to climb on Wednesday, but she was SO sore she asked to postpone to today.

I had to laugh! I'm 23 years older than she is, and I wasn't sore at all! HA! The old broad is in better shape than the young one. (grin)

Climbed 2 x V2 :) (at least, I figure they were V2 as they were part of the tiger stripy V1-V2 circuit at the Biscuit Factory, and marked as 'high in grade'). Both on a slabby bit so playing to my strengths, but nevertheless pleasing. And did a couple of overhanging (V0-ish) problems.

Cool! The hardest bouldering I ever did was a V1, so I greatly admire people who do anything above that!

I finally got back on a top-rope wall, for the first time in weeks. Sent a nice little 5.9 and felt very pleased about that.

I climbed a hole into my climbing shoes!
I feel like I have passed some test. And I get to buy new shoes. Yay! Or maybe No! I'm not sure.

I loved my Red Chilli laceups, so I'm going to look at those first. And then start spreading out until I find something that fits.
