Friday glee has an enlarged parietal area

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

No climbing for me this week. (sigh) I'm heading to Washington, D.C. today to receive a grant I won for a novel I'm working on. (Small grant, but hey, money!)

And with my partner not climbing until her thumb heals, I'm not sure when I will climb again.

Still, I can't complain. I'm going somewhere and won something. (grin)

I've totally taken a beginning belay class, so I can expand from bouldering the next time my more vertical climby friends come to call!

Yay belaying! I have also been dabbling in the roped stuff.

My climbing parner(s) goaded my into practicing a move for so long, I managed to kind of do it in the end.
I'm still convinced I Can't Do It (TM), but at least I did manage one time \O/
