Friday glee is kicking it old school

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

First climbing in a fortnight yesterday! It felt good to be back doing it (my arms were so tired that cycling home was fun, though!)

YAY! I totally understand this joy.

I climbed last night with my climbing partner and had a great night. We've both had busy schedules this week, and finally last night we were both available and ready to go. It was great. Plus there was a shitload of new top rope routes up! YAY!

I have glee because I have several lovely projects on the go. And I've avoided completely trashing my fingers, so I can do the comp on Sunday.

It's a round of the Southern Indoor Bouldering League, so there'll be some seriously hardcore people doing it (e.g. members of the national team); I know from the get-go that I'm not even in the running.

I'm just doing it to have fun and push my boundaries a bit. *g*

Got massively overloaded (my brain has severe issues with noise and crowds) and had to leave halfway through. *sighs*

Hey you went, and you tried! That's great. I'm not a fan of noise or crowds myself, and have a very low tolerance for them. So I sympathize.

I've had a good time at previous smaller-scale comps, but this was a round of a bigger, more serious one (though still taking place at my local wall), which has a junior category (so lots and lots of kids).

Which I think pushed the noise and crowds past what my brain can handle.

But you only find out what the limits are when you run into them, so. Learning experience, etc. etc..
