The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: James Morris on Weapon Omega at Flock Hill in New Zealand, demonstrating the horrors of a V12 topout.

Agreed. It looks evil.

I climbed on Monday, and there was visible improvement. Even if my arms and leg did ache for the next two days. Next time, I hope to fully complete a bouldering route, instead of getting 2/3 up, and coming down again.

I climbed on Wednesday night for two hours. It was great. My partner and I are planning a marathon day of climbing on Saturday. In the gym, but still, it should be epic.

I send good vibes! That's amazing that you're working such hard problems.

That is very, very cool. I like doing that. I am trying to work 5.9s. It's slow going, but it makes me feel strong, and I enjoy the puzzle.

I went climbing this afternoon! For the first time in about 2 months (what with the nausea & then the moving house & then the being away).

Sadly am not supposed to go too far *up* (which I am interpreting as "don't go up if you're risking a fall" i.e. pottering around on slab V0s is fine) but there is plenty of along to be had.

Mostly! It recurs intermittently if I'm tired or haven't eaten for ~3 hrs (which is at least fairly easy to deal with :) ) but the constant-all-the-time-I'm-awake-and-upright nausea has worn off.

Unfortunately my climbing trousers don't fit any more... may have to resort to a safety-pin :)

I've been to the climbing wall in my new town twice now! I really need a local climbing partner.

I may try to convert a coworker, too. (I'm a brand-new professor, and the local wall is just that: a handful of top-rope routes set up in the corner of the university gym. Finding new climbers is easy-- finding new climbers who aren't my potential students is a little trickier.)

I send good vibes that you find a partner. I advertised for one, and also got the gym manager looking. Finally I found the perfect partner!
