Friday glee is out on the sandstone
Apr. 22nd, 2011 09:59 amThe Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.
It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.
To enhance this week's glee: A Day at High Rocks, including the fourth ascent of the ridiculously-hard Chimaera. Note that this is British southern sandstone; the rock is too fragile to place protection, so top-roping qualifies as a valid ascent.

Date: 2011-04-22 03:47 pm (UTC)The indoors-outdoors transition can feel weird initially (I'm very new to it myself), but in my experience it's mostly about re-setting your brain so that it starts reading the rock the way it would read an indoor problem. Once you get over the brain hiccups, things start to feel more comfortable again. *g*
