Friday glee and Lynn Hill (again)

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

I have glee because I went to the inaugural Women's Improvers session led by Leah Crane! And it was great, even though it was very crowded which inevitably made my brain asplode afterwards.

I have modest pride, if not glee, about the fact that I have been very restrained and taken a few days off after straining some of my finger tendons. Sekrit message to juliet: I've been using the home-made comfrey oil and it seems to be helping.

It was a bit chaotic at first because Crane had expected to have 5 or 6 people turn up, and got at least in the range of 30-40. But it ended up surprisingly organized, with all of us in groups working on different problems and Crane zipping around from group to group giving us tips.

My Friday glee is that I'm getting to climb tomorrow, and this next week, I'm returning to my Tuesday climbing schedule. I haven't climbed on Tuesdays in weeks because of an injured climbing partner.

This will get me back to my three times a week schedule!

Yay getting back on schedule! Though of course I feel obliged to say that bouldering can be a good option when you don't have a partner (I acknowledge my shameless bias).

I try bouldering some, but as has been pointed out to me with much grinning - people my age don't bounce so good. (grin)

Traversing? *looks hopeful*

(Though of course that's dependent on having enough space to traverse without colliding with other people.)

There's plenty of room for traversing. I do that some. That's hard stuff! I'd rather climb up than traverse! (grin)

That's why if you traverse a lot when you don't have a climbing partner, you can get much stronger for when you get the chance to climb UP again!

Of course, it's possible that I may be just a bit obsessive.
