I had a surprise climbing partner last weekend. Someone from my gym posted they were looking for a belay partner for 5 pm on a Saturday. I said I was available! We climbed together and it was wonderful. She's a really strong climber (competitive), and I'm anything but! Still we found common ground in our love for being on the wall, and it was fabulous.
* volunteered to help with The Great Route Reset at my climbing gym last weekend, thought I'd just be washing holds and matching them with screws, ended up being allowed to actually set a route. Thought I had a 5c, turns out I set a 6a XD * climbed my first indoors 6a, and not the one I set either :P * had a good chat with a guy who's training pro-level climbers. Turns out I'm doing everything right for where I'm at, and most of the problems I'm having will fix themselves with time and vertical kilometers. No need to worry about any extra workouts at this point. Just. Climb. * am actually going rock climbing this weekend, because some friends of mine refuse to believe in weather. We're maybe going to have 4 good hours on Sunday morning, but I'll be there for them.
We're having very English weather here. It's been raining like crazy, with just a few hours in the morning where we get some sun. Not like Florida at all!
Took a bad fall Tuesday and have a big bruise on my shin, but at least it's doing enough better now that I could take a long walk in the evening after it cooled off.
