Got jab#1 yesterday, slept badly, feeling pretty wiped today. But progress!

Yay for jab #1! AstraZeneca? I got mine last Sat, also slept really badly after -- I thought it might just have been because of the muscle aches (which I also got quite badly that night and had through Sunday), but I'm starting to wonder if disrupted sleep is also a side-effect.

FWIW, I woke up feeling pretty much fine on Monday; seems like it's generally a 24-hour thing. So hopefully you'll also be feeling okay again tomorrow.

Yeah, AZ. I woke up in the small hours shivering like anything; and then later, feeling really cold; and then shivering again - so obviously was running a fever for a while.

Yeah, I didn't get fever, just aches. Not the most fun, but it's kind of nice to have the evidence that my immune system is Doing Some Shit.

I mean, I'd have been happy to take that on trust without the Demonstration, but yes :)

I went climbing again last weekend in the new rock gym in town. My belay partner is trying to push herself to work on her technique, so I belayed her for a really long red point. My neck was SO sore! I'd kind of forgotten how looking up for a really long time can be hard on your neck.

It was also hard on my hands, because she is not light. She's taller than me and weighs a bit more. But she's going to be a strong climber as her technique improves.

Apparently my lot in life now is to teach the younger generation how to do the things I've been able to do, but because of my hands, can't do as well anymore.

Fortunately I do love teaching people to climb. This is not my first time doing it, and I love watching someone learn the moves.

Vaxxed, spent a long week in the field not climbing much at all but able to hand tools to my colleagues without being afraid we're going to kill each other. Wow! Good times.

My first time climbing actual rock :D Local limestone wall in the forests I played in for most of my childhood. Had no partner so I mostly improvised bouldering stuff at the base of the routes, but there was a super simple 5m tall one I felt confident enough to climb ropeless.

Eh, sometimes an appropriate strategy is knowing that falling off is Not An Option and being certain that you won't.

Though I do rec getting a mat because it means you can play on things with much more room to fall off!

Hah, I wouldn't have any idea how to carry one on public transport all the way there :)

I have a rockclimbing class next weekend tho, so maybe I'll find a rope buddy there
