Friday glee is feeling cold

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

To enhance this week's glee: bouldering on rocks protruding from the frozen Lake Baikal, because why not.

No climbing this week. Just my fingertips peeling from the last climbing event.

It's been warm here this week. Temperatures in the 80s! YAY!

I took my niece climbing today for her first time, and she sent a 5.5. Pretty good for 7 years old!

That is COOL! I'm so glad she got to do that! Where did you go?

ProjectRock, near Fort Lauderdale. They have rock walls that apparently replicate the rock in various regions around the country. I totally want to come back here with someone who knows how to belay (and without a small child) so I can try it out.

That must be a new place! DAMN! I want to try it out now.

Went climbing with the kid! Went up another new V2! and L did a really good job of trying a V0 (couldn't quite manage it but a good solid try; it's hard with short legs!).

Also my friend is now Authorised to Supervise which is going to make life much easier with wrangling the assorted under-12s when we all go together.
