The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: Dave MacLeod on Paradise Lost (8B/8B+).

I'm going climbing on Sunday with the young woman I'm teaching to rock climb. Cannot wait!

Work was... really A Lot this week, and I worked until 8pm almost every night, so no climbing this week. But we're planning on going this weekend, and even though next week is also CHAOS, I think I figured out a way we can climb 2-3 times next week.

Took both my own kid L (7) and a friend's kid H (6-nearly-7) climbing and they both had a lovely time (L is getting pretty chill about climbing V0! Though some expect a longer arm/leg reach than he possesses), but H in particular was just SO INTO IT. She's only been climbing once before, and she only made it to the top of one problem (I was at pains to say that it's fine to come down if you feel you've gone high enough!), but she was throwing herself enthusiastically at one of the cave/very-overhang-y V0s multiple times and I had to more or less peel her off the wall when I felt we'd both probably had enough. So that was fun :)

Not wishing to be outclassed by the 6 yr old, I too got slightly further up the cave/very-overhang-y V0s than I had before. Core strength still isn't quite up to it yet :/ I may have more reach than the kids but my power to mass ratio is much worse!
