This set inadvertently developed something of a theme, and I believe that theme may be something along the lines of "Mad dogs and British climbers" ...
Simon Nadin climbs Beau Geste (on TV in the early '90s)
Neil Bentley on New Statesman (E8 7a) (I believe this is from the amazing film Hard Grit: check it out.)
George Ullrich climbs Master's Edge (E7 6b/c)
The Dawes demonstrates his own route, Braille Traile (E7 6c) (This is from Stone Monkey.)
Steve McClure, master of the bat-hang, on his extension of Northern Exposure, 9a+
Dave MacLeod sends Pressure Front (Font 8b)
James Pearson sends The Promise (A snippet from Committed.)
Steve McClure on Elder Statesman (Featuring what may be one of the most awesome single moves I've ever seen. He called this route HXS 7a/7b, on the grounds that he wasn't familiar enough with the British adjectival grading system for trad to suggest an E-grade for it.)
Dave MacLeod repeats Breathless (E10 7a)
Mina Leslie-Wujastyk on Ben's Roof (Font 7c+) (Kneepads! Assistant holding the chalkbag! High five!)

Date: 2009-05-02 12:46 pm (UTC)(The "Pressure Front" one is my current favourite, because it overlays close-ups of his hands on some of the holds so you can see just how terrible they are and how much finger strength is going into staying on them.)
