Friday glee trusts the process

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

I reclimbed a 5.10 (5.10+?) I had first climbed a couple weeks ago, and I managed to do the really hard part near the end without cheating \o/ It was a lot of leveraging and scrambling and very not elegant, but I did it.

I climbed last week on Friday. I took it easy and had an excellent time. I was there for a little over two hours. SO nice to stretch out my muscles.

Now I will have to wait and see when I can go there next, because I'm in the midst of being offered possibly two jobs and must see which one will be the winner. Nice to have a choice.

Me, too! I hated being idle, and climbing was the perfect way to break back in to activity.

First time trad climbing! I learned how to clean protection and fell in the sea three times and generally had a wonderful day.

How cool! That sounds wonderful. This was in Ireland?

Yep, sea stacks near Gweedore in Donegal.

Handy, if intimidating when you are clinging to the scariest thing you've ever climbed and you keep falling off. "Now let go with one hand...."

But there's always the option of shouting "Okay, take me here, I need both hands to get the gear out". *g*

(Which is sometimes actually the case.)
