rydra_wong: Lisa Rands' chalky hands on the sloper on the route Gaia (climbing -- hands)

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: this charming and hilarious video of an onsight attempt on classic grit route Wuthering (E2 5b). I have had the pleasure of seconding this route and it's pretty wonderful.

The only thing climbing related in my life right now is the fact that my fingertips are peeling after the climbing of two weeks ago.

This is a pattern now that I don't climb regularly. I go climbing, and two weeks later, all the skin on my fingertips peels off from friction burns.

I actually got climbing this week! Turns out several weeks away is no good for my already crappy stamina...
