The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.
It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.
N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.
To enhance this week's glee, this news! Carlo Traversi has completed the second ascent of Meltdown (unrepeated for over a decade)
Sweet post of congratulations from first ascentionist Beth Rodden
To celebrate, here's a poor quality illicit copy of the Beth Rodden section from Dosage V, including Meltdown. You can acquire it licitly here, which I highly recommend; it's amazing to see in high-def.

Date: 2018-11-09 05:56 pm (UTC)IIRC Tom Randall had a look at it circa the time he and Pete Whittaker did Cobra Crack, and said he couldn't even begin to do most of the moves. Basically there are reasons no-one's repeated it in a decade!
I'll be interested to see if Traversi has thoughts on the grade.
