Friday glee is crystalline

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

I have glee because of last Saturday's jaunt to the little limestone crag of Brassington Rocks, despite the nettles!

I have glee because I have new climbing shoes (the women's Miura velcros -- I've been a staunch and happy user of the Miura laces for a long while, but now my current pair are on their last resole, I thought I'd try branching out a bit).

NEW SHOES! I love it when I get to indulge in new shoes.

My climbing partner went out of town unexpectedly, so I'm stuck with the auto-belay. BORING. Last week I worked hard on a 5.9 that goes over a volume. That damn thing is still defeating me.
