Friday glee is patient

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

Going climbing to get rained on this weekend! Forecast looks **** awful, but we'll see if we can sneak some climbs in around the downpours. Probably not the weekend for long hard mountain routes, but such is life...

Where are you going to be rained on?

My best approach to awful weather so far is to count the trip as a "reccy"; if nothing else, I figure, I'm getting the transport and accommodation logistics sorted, learning my way round a new area, seeing where the routes are, and ogling things I wouldn't be able to climb even if it was dry ...

North Wales; conventional wisdom is that one of Tremadog or Holyhead is often dry even if Snowdonia is damp, but even that may not be the case this weekend...

No climbing for me this weekend, which is a shame. But I'm in Nashville to see if I've won an award, or if I'm simply a finalist. (grin) At least I'm not climbing in a different place!
