The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.
It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.
N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.
To enhance this week's glee: the German Climbing Team do some unconventional training to prepare for the increasingly-quirky dynamic moves in comps.

Date: 2014-12-26 12:48 pm (UTC)I'm having to take a short break from climbing right now because of a shoulder injury, sight. On the plus side, the rest is helping and I'll probably be ready for some gentle toproping in a couple days.
I'm getting increasingly frustrated that I discovered this sport 20 years too late. I want to go back in time and give younger me a little push in the right direction. At 20, I could've climbed as hard as I liked and as much as I liked. And I think I could've been really good. I did 20 pullups with my fingertips hanging from the bottom of our stairs every day, just for fun. And it wasn't even hard. I can't believe I wasted all this potential.
Okay, this tipped over into non-glee. After all, better discovering a good thing late than never...

You cannot possibly be older than me, so you've got many years of great climbing ahead!

Date: 2014-12-26 06:01 pm (UTC)I'm off work until January 2nd, and my gym is on very limited hours (1 to 9), so I'm hoping to get in a lot of time on the auto-belay between now and then. I haven't climbed since my 50 ascents in 1 hour. The holidays messed with my schedule.
Also, I was out of town one night because I had a lovely Christmas gift! Pat took me to see a hockey game in Tampa, FL to see my favorite player play live! Great game and we spent the night. So I was watching hockey instead of climbing on Tuesday as I'd planned initially!
