The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.
It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.
N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.
To enhance this week's glee: Grit Kids, Hot Aches's 20-minutes film on teenage siblings Katie and Pete Whittaker (back before he was a Wide Boy), climbing hard trad after school. Includes Pete's first ascent of Dynamics of Change (E9 7a), his direct start to Braille Trail, featuring one of the most holy shit moves on grit.

Date: 2013-11-01 11:20 am (UTC)I went to climb last Saturday, but had to cut it short. One, I was having trouble with a ganglion cyst in my wrist, and two, Pat was taking me to the Lubee Bat Conservancy for their annual bat festival.
So the 5.9 has still not been conquered. Trying again tomorrow!

The bat festival was fantastic. The Lubee Bat Conservancy is set up to study and save all different types of fruit bats. They have a great collection. Here's two videos I took:

Date: 2013-11-03 09:11 pm (UTC)Nice work!
I may save the bat videos for tomorrow, to reward me after a meeting which I'm betting is going to be tedious and horrible.
