Friday glee has just the icon for this

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

I bought my first ever climbing harness!

(A DMM Puma, for anyone who's interested. Fits, bombproof, not too expensive, has enough gear loops to let me learn trad if I lean that way.)

Last weekend I ran a readers' and writers' conference called Daddy's Girls' Weekend, so there was no climbing in my weekend.

But Monday I was back and climbing! Then again on Wednesday!

However, my climbing partner called me yesterday to say she'd cut off the tip of her thumb in a "farming machine" accident! OH NO! (She lives on a farm outside of town and has many, many animals.)

So she's had surgery and is now in a sling, so it's going to limit our climbing for a while!

I went climbing! For the first time since Leon was born (actually for the first time since about 4 wks before that, so I've been off for 10 wks). L obligingly slept in the sling on my partner for long enough for me to get about 40 min of climbing in, so I zoomed round about half of the black easy circuit before I got knackered :)

it was *awesome* to be back. Am hoping to be able to go about weekly for the next little while.
