Friday glee might scream or summat

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

To enhance this week's glee: Will Atkinson on Coming Up For Air (Font 8A), his new direct start to Big Air at Stanage. For purposes of comparison, Big Air involves jumping across the chasm to latch the hold; Coming Up For Air involves jumping out of the chasm.

Cool video. I'm hoping I get to climb today. My partner (an attorney) has had a crazy week, so she's not been able to climb. But we're hoping to get some time on the walls in today.

I'm about to start the whole moving-500-miles thing, so there is not going to be much climbing in my immediate future. I did have an awesome session on Tuesday, though, including matching my best-ever lead grade, and getting to the top of a 6B+ (a first for me) albeit with about three falling-off moments.

Yay 6B+! Fingers crossed for the move to go well, and just think of all the nice gneiss you have to look forwards too ...

Going to Arapiles this Friday in order to learn how to trad lead! Really excited.
