Okay, it looks like these date from several years back, but I still have to post to say WTF:

Stella McCartney climbing shoes

And another model in, er, gold

Apparently they were a collaboration with Adidas, who, AFAIK, have never made climbing shoes. Possibly technical specs were not their top priority.

Especially since, as someone pointed out, the pastel shoes seem to be made entirely out of fondant icing. I don't imagine cake edges well.

Well, those are both unattractive and not very effective-looking.

I know! Not only were technical specs not their top priority, it appears that aesthetics weren't either.

What their priority was, we may never know. Possibly some unspeakable plan for world domination through hideous shoes.

I especially like the McCartney quote: "... together we are going to give women a choice - they finally can workout and look great, too."
