First glee of 2012!

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

To enhance this week's glee: a very young Pete Whittaker (now half of the Wideboyz) does his spectacularly bendy rockover on the first ascent of 'Dynamics of Change' (the direct start to 'Braille Trail'). Belaying provided by Pete's mum.

Tomorrow is Boulderpalooza at my rock gym. It's a bouldering competition which is always a blast to watch. Terrific climbers, and the final problems are insane!

I went climbing yesterday, for the first time in nearly a month! I climbed only new routes all evening, which was awesome fun :) And despite the PIE over Christmas and lack of practice, I managed a clean (top-rope) 6a+ on the first go, and dogged my way up a 6b. Next week I hope to start on Crazy Climbing Goal one :)

I have already managed to make it outside, with a quick trip to Fairlop Waters (I know, it's concrete, but it's still outside).
