Friday glee is out on the grit

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big.

Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

To enhance this week's glee: Alastair Lee of Posing Productions has made a series of acclaimed rock climbing films. In this short, he covers some cutting-edge gritstone action -- from Simon Lee, age 5 (I especially like the "BASE jump".)

N.B. Feel free to post your glee in the comm on any day of the week. The Friday post is just to get the ball rolling.

This week's glee is the f6b (French, not Font) I climbed on Monday; my first ever at the grade (albeit on top-rope). It's been a while since I first climbed f6a+, so that felt good :-)

OMG indeed. I'm not much into bouldering (the bouldering room here is rubbish), but even I know that Font is amazing. Have fun :-)

I'm not climbing this weekend because I'm actually in Orlando picking up a friend at a conference.

But this next week I will take her to climb with me on Tuesday. It will be her second time climbing. (The first was with me last year!)

So that's my glee this week. Sharing climbing with a friend again.
