Friday glee is not a bioloid

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big.

Climbing tomorrow!

This will be the first time I've been in what, 3 weeks? Due to a work trip to the US, and then a lurgie. I'm going to have to take it easy, I think :)

I have tremendous glee because my back's recovered enough for me to do the Arch anniversary bouldering competition tomorrow, and the BoulderBus has put its spring dates up, so I'm plotting possible trips to Fontainebleau.

And there's this funky video of the comp (SIBL round 5) which the Arch hosted a few weeks back.

Went climbing twice! Which is always gleeful. And did the F6b in the cave & found it oddly straightforward (fell off the F6c halfway up, mind), and worked out a nice bridging V2 that I don't think I'd have had the stretch/strength whilst stretched to do a couple of months ago. Also I had to spend 5min up there playing around with the move and trying it from other nearby holds and generally convincing myself that it was doable, and then I DID it, yay.

Sounds like a lot of climbing is going on! I'm getting ready to move into a period where I won't be able to climb as much as I regularly do because I'll be traveling. WOE.

But I did climb this week, after having missed it over the weekend because I'd caught the cold from hell and couldn't breathe!

I climbed for the first time yesterday. Getting to the top of that wall was like nothing, NOTHING else except maybe the moment when a piece of writing finally decides to work. I was wide awake, practically high on endorphins for four hours afterward. I've wanted to try it for nigh-on eight months now, and a number of girls at my new job decided to go. All different body types, only one who's tried before. We all loved it.
