Friday glee has ninjas

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big.

Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

To enhance this week's glee: Ben Heason and Steve McClure go buildering. Synchronized bat-hangs! YouTube comments include: "fuckin' ninjas. they're everywhere."

N.B. Feel free to post your glee in the comm on any day of the week. The Friday post is just to get the ball rolling.

My Friday glee is that I'm spending Christmas Eve climbing with Kim and then the day after Christmas climbing with Fred!

I'd climb Christmas Day, but Pat's going out of Town, and I couldn't work in a time between Christmas dinner with friends and having to be home to take care of our dog. (grin)

I went climbing last night. And I even found two friends to come with me. At the moment that alone is reason for glee, because we literally had to walk. For miles. Through the snow. Like, an hour each way. It was so worth it.

I climbed a route that I had managed weeks ago, and then last time I was there I just couldn't past get a certain point - it seemed totally impossible. Yesterday I got to that point again and stretched my body to the limits so I could just about reach the next hold with my fingertips, and I somehow managed to drag myself up. I felt very accomplished after that. :)

YAY! I know that wonderful feeling of FINALLY making a move. It's the best.

And I admire you for walking through the snow like that to get to climbing.

I may have a story to post next week.
juliet: My rat Ash, at 6 wks old, climbing up the baby-rat-tank and peering over the edge (ash exploring)

I went climbing twice! And the second time, I hung around for a couple of hours, and alternated between climbing and hanging out doing some writing in the cafe-bit while my arms recovered. And it was really lovely to be able to do *more* than I normally have time to.

Also I worked on two V2 problems that I did once then couldn't do again, and got both of them. And got some more progress on another couple of problems. Yay me.
