For some reason I feel the need to tell you all this

I just did my first ever fingerboard training* session.

While watching Cliffhanger on video.

I feel that irony is good for the tendons.

*By "training" I mean "hanging for several seconds at a time off the largest holds, whimpering." My finger strength is not l33t, so I am taking it gently.

Heh, it's not just the acting. I saw it at the cheap cinema in Boulder CO, where pretty much everyone's a climber, and the entire audience was in stitches. Start with "Rocky Mountain National Park" being (badly) acted by the Dolomites. Then the ludicrous "climbing" (hello, the purpose of gear is for protection, not just to randomly place and then ignore). Then the contrived accident. Heck, by the time you get to the actual acting it's already an awful movie.
