Friday glee spends years under a rock in the woods

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. I haven't climbed this week - extra choir rehearsal 'cos Holy Week. Still, it'll be Wednesday soon enough :)

I got my boss to agree to a schedule change so that I leave the office two days a week at 4:30 so I can go workout. If nothing else, I can build my strength and endurance for those times I CAN climb.

I went to a trad club meet both days at the weekend, and then had a smashing day at Lawrencefield yesterday, so I am full of yay.

Made it up my first 5.10c! And it was a tall one, too!

It was indoors at the local climbing gym! The holds themselves weren't all that difficult, but there were some weird moves to get to the next one. To be quite honest, I don't remember most of the climb, and I'm still a little baffled that I managed to do it at all.

Yeah, I feel like sometimes that happens when it all flows really well -- it feels so instinctive in the moment that aparently my brain can't be bothered to record it, or something.
