Friday glee is nearly free

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

I managed the silly climb-the-back-wall-on-features-only thing I didn't quite manage last week. Silly, but fun :)

Cool! I love when features are included in a route. I've never done a route that was all features. It sounds fun.

I've been invited to dinner tonight at a friend's house. They have a small climbing wall in their house. So I was told to bring my climbing shoes. YAY! CLIMBING!

It turned out to be very cool. They have cathedral ceilings in the house and they had some really high routes (which I had to down climb because even with a mat at my age, you don't drop that far). I tore a flapper because I have no callouses any more, but I was in heaven. And I was able to climb their hardest route. YAY!

AWESOME! Maybe you can ask if you can come round and visit more often?

Seriously, if they're obsessive enough climbers to have a wall in their house, I'm sure they'd understand the agonies of being climbing-deprived. They could even set you some harder stuff!

I think I'll be able to climb there occasionally. The problem is their schedules are crazy. Nick is a cop, so it makes it hard to find times that work for us all.
