Friday glee enjoys these "new-fangled climbing walls"

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

To enhance this week's glee: it seemed fitting to go from a news item about the very young to those somewhat older, so here's this fine little film about the Westway's Gamma Group.

Excellent - I hope to still be climbing when I'm that age :-)

I love that video! My plan is to be climbing when I'm 80. I won't give it up until I simply can't get up a wall.

My climbing partner has been away. She interviewed for grad school last week (and got accepted!) and then took her citizenship test yesterday in South Florida. Passed it! She's a kick-ass woman.

I'll be on the auto-belay this weekend, and then hopefully climbing with her next week.

Yes! There's definitely precedent for what I want to achieve. I'm just a bit closer to that age than most of the people on this list!
