Friday glee finds the shake-out the most terrifying part

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: Beat Kammerlander free soloes Mordillo, 8a+, in 1999.

I discovered this week I had an infection, and of course it got complicated by discovering after I'd started one antibiotic that I was on the wrong one, so another was prescribed. But now I'm starting to feel better. This is good, because I was feeling crappy and couldn't climb.

So tonight my climbing partner and I are mixing things up a bit. We're going to the movies to see GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and then we're going to the rock gym to climb afterwards. It should be the start of a perfect 3 day weekend! (Monday's a holiday here!)

I went bouldering, and it was fun

I'm in Portland at a conference at the moment, and some of us went to the climbing wall on campus. It only had bouldering problems, but we spent a happy hour or so there, and I did problems up to about V3.

V3s are impressive to me! Nice that you could get some climbing in while at a conference! YAY!

That sounds like a Hawkeye after-action report from the Avengers fanfiction. "I shot the target. He is dead."
