Friday Glee! (Yes, it's the substitute.)

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

My glee this week is that on Wednesday I managed to climb two 5.7 routes that I'd never been able to 1) start, and 2) finish.

The first is a 5.7 that has incredibly high foot moves, coupled with there being only one foot hold per move. So you have to constantly smear. I finally managed to make the second move on the route, and from there I was able to get to the top. I was quite amazed and very happy.

The second is a mis-marked route. Everyone in the gym agrees it's not a 5.7, even if the route setter insists it is. It's on an overhang, and I'd managed to make all but the final move before. This week I got that final move. YAY!

Work has been very annoying this week; it seems that aggravation at work results in better climbing, though :) I had a great session at the wall this week, rattling off a string of F6B/+s that had previously proved troublesome. I repeated the F6c+ project, too :-)
