Friday glee tastes of burnt pasta

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: Hazel Findlay and Jack Geldard on their new route on the Aiguille de Saussure, Mont Blanc du Tacul, Chamonix -- bold rock and mixed climbing in an astonishing setting.

Beautiful climb (but to cold for my tastes, brrr.)

I had to take a two or three week break because of a nasty cold, but I slowly got back into training last week, doing careful half-hour outdoor bouldering sessions every other day, and now I feel like my grip strength is back to where it was before. My new climbing partner was sick at the same time so at least none of us had to cancel on the other one.

I'm glad you're feeling better, and even more glad for your coinciding illness! Being without a partner sucks.
