Friday glee has mixed feelings
The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.
It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.
N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.
To enhance this week's glee: Sarah Hueniken on Musashi (M12), one of the hardest mixed routes in Canada. Even if mixed climbing is not an interest of yours, she also talks interestingly about working as a guide and teaching ice climbing to women.

I just completed the beginner rock climbing class at a local gym here in Chicago. Their wall is outside & visible from the street, & I had been passing by the club for literally years, going "Gee, I wanna do that." Sooo glad I finally tried it, it was a total blast!
The class consisted of 3 sessions of about 2 hours each, and now having "graduated", we're allowed to climb during the supervised times. We all exchanged #s so we can have buddies to practice with. I'd definitely like to continue with this (though now my only prob is that I already belong to a different gym & can't afford 2 memberships, so I'll have to come up with the $$ for a guest pass...)
Anyway yeah, I'm super stoked that I found a new fun thing to do. Any advice for the n00b would be much appreciated :):)
