Friday glee is watching the weather

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big.

Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

To enhance this week's glee: Dave MacLeod and Tim Emmett go sea-cliff climbing at Pembroke.

N.B. Feel free to post your glee in the comm on any day of the week. The Friday post is just to get the ball rolling.

My glee this week is something that happened last night. I belayed for a group of young Islamic women. The gym was closed completely to men. It was all women belayers, and the women were young - high school/college age. They were great. They had a blast and some of them climbed very well. They are not allowed to climb with men, but many of them want to climb regularly.

So today I'm meeting with the gym manager and a woman shift manager to see if we can't figure out a time to set for them to climb each week when it will be women only!
