GLEEEEEE

(Posting early because today's going to be hectic!)

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had a good time; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big.

Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

ETA: To enhance the glee, pretty pretty footage of Ines Papert and friends winter climbing in Scotland.

Woo! That's very cool about Crane guest-setting! (Also, loved the vid.)

I climbed easy today as my butt is still recovering from a blow when I barn-doored on an overhang. Last Sunday I swung hard to the left and my right ass cheek made serious contact with the metal beam at the top of the big bouldering wall.

Today I did do a new 5.7 route, which was cool, and felt strong. So I'll go back and try the overhang again on Sunday.

So my glee for today was climbing and my butt not aching as much. (grin)

I went back to the Castle to do some top-roped climbing for the first time since Easter (shortly free which I broke my thumb, & then just haven't had time and company to get back there since). And climbed 3 5a routes isight! Given that the last time I was there, I was climbing 4c, and the 5a routes were just impossible, this pleased me greatly.

then I had a rubbish session at the Arch on Thursday morning where I kept falling off V1s on the wave bit, but hey. I was *there*, and my main goal right now is just to make it down there twice a week. (I'm counting the Castle session as one of those this week). And they're about to reset the slab, so I'll hsve lovely new slab routes to play on next week!

I think as well I just get a bit nervous on the wave bit due to centre of gravity working differently (it is both a slab and an overhang! at the same time!). Plus I'm more nervous about falling off there.
