rydra_wong: Lisa Rands' chalky hands on the sloper on the route Gaia (climbing -- hands)

As I was saying to [personal profile] abyssinia, I ended up climbing in my t-shirt at Fairlop Waters, and that was on that bitterly cold day. I am fairly cold-tolerant, but not masochistic.

I am v interested by the idea that there's is outdoor bouldering actually accessible by public transport from here

*nods* I cadged a car lift to get down to Bowles (couldn't face handling outdoor climbing for the first time and navigating travel stuff simultaneously), but I'll be hopping on the train next time -- apparently it's about an hour direct from London Bridge to Eridge station, and then it's a 15-20 minute walk down a wind-y country lane.

The tricky thing with Bowles is that the rock has to dry out, so you need a string of dry days, not just one. Hence the obsessive forecast-watching.

I am considering going to one of these places next time I have a free weekend day & the weather is bearable

Might you be on for meeting up and going together at some point, perhaps? The Arch staff can vouch for my not being an axe murderer.
