Friday glee doesn't understand why the shark

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: for anyone who's seen Free Solo lately, here's what a free ascent of Freerider usually looks like, as demonstrated by Jacob Cook and team.

Except I don't think there's always an inflatable shark. The shark is optional.

I'm planning to get a climbing day in next week after I see the surgeon about my appendix. I know that once I've scheduled the appendectomy, it will be a while before I can climb again. I'm determined to get one last session in before that time!

Thank you! Fortunately it's not serious (as far as they're telling me). The appendix is enlarged and pressing up against other things (like my colon), so it needs to come out before it creates a problem.
