For US climbers

The Access Fund has a call to action outlining what you can do to help protect public lands (including many important climbing areas) during the shutdown:

Rock and Ice: Action Alert: Help Public Lands During the Government Shutdown

ETA: Also Outside's got an interesting piece on the situation in Joshua Tree and the mystery of why the parks are being kept open:

This is unfortunately very needed. Yahoos have been cutting down trees at Joshua Tree and trashing restrooms at the major national parks.

Have passed this on to my brother, who is an enthusiastic public parks user & rock climber & much better connected folks out on the West Coast who would jump on this.

Thank you for the link - I'll also act on this myself this weekend.

Bit out of date, that -- they closed Mount Rainier this week, at least the Nisqually Gate, I want to say it was Monday (I was up the west road over New Year's, and the concessionaire was keeping the road open to Longmire, but they shut the gate this week after the snow. No idea if you can still get in from the east side at all.)
