Then some people on the spectrum actually prefer "autistic people" (on the grounds that the autism is not detachable, it's part of who we are).
*nods* This is the way I tend because that makes more sense to me, but of course you need to tailor for your audience.
But as I'm not officially diagnosed with anything (just strongly suspect myself of having Asperger's), I can't really get away with pushing one way or the other, I guess.
